FAMILY CONFLICT MEDIATION Very often families find themselves in conflict over differences, misunderstandings or confused perceptions. Family members become hurt, frustrated and angry and are unable to express their thoughts and feelings or are unable to listen effectively to other family members. With the help of a trained mediator, all family members can resolve their differences cooperatively. In a quiet, relaxed and calm environment, the mediator(s) will guide you through the process, identifying the issues and individual needs of each family member, and will look at alternative options in order to develop solutions to meet everyone’s goals. Our experience has been that family members want to maintain their relationships with one another, although very often life experiences, outside influences or internal conflicts create difficulties or escalate anger. Perceptions, misunderstandings and miscommunication, and often pride prevent individuals from resolving their conflicts. Mediation is the process that re-connects families. |
